Pre-assembly, right sidePSU is located at the front end and is flipped on its side taking fresh air from the right side and throwing hot air toward the front bezel.
The 120mm intake fan will supply fresh air to the CPU cooler. -
Pre-assembly, rear oblique fanThe oblique rear intake fan will blow fresh air from the rear of the case on the graphic board. -
Pre-assembly, frontThe 90mm exahust fan on the left will blow away hot air from the graphic card. -
Crucial RealSSD C300 256 GBThis will be the primary system drive (operating system and main applications). -
C300 installationThe case has a very helpful tray for two 2.5" disks between the optical drive tray and the upper side of the PSU.
This will allow to not use the supplied hard disk cage (that allows for other 2x2.5" and 2x3.5" disks) saving precious space to have better air flows! -
WD Scorpio Black installationOn the left the storage disk (secondary applications and work data - documents will be safe on the Synology NAS) below the ODD tray, aside the Crucial SSD on the right.
(Please note the home-made vibrations isolators: felt-pads for chairs!) -

Front bezel assembly.We can now assembly back the front bezel and apply the shaped covers to the eject key and the tray of the dvd writer.
Previously we also assemblied the disk and power LEDs (to the left of the DVD, hard to be seen in the picture being turned off). -
Mother board tray.Ok, now we get seriuos. It's time for the system's hearth, the "mobo"...
Working on a separated mobo tray is very comfortable - expecially in such a small case. -
Mobo & rear fan installation.We have fixed the mobo on it's tray and also added an exhaust rear fan.
Now it's time for the CPU & RAM! -
CPU and RAM.The CPU with its stock dissipator (will probably be replaced shortly by a liquid kit - likely the Corsair H60) and the 4 RAM DIMs 4 GB each are on their places! -
N580GTX Twin Frozr II.One of the most interesting features of the Lan Gear case is its ability to accomodate a 'full size' VGA card as the current top single GPU one from nVidia. -
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium.The audio card that thanks to the Alchemy software regain the sorround effects on Windows 7 also for the "old" DX9 games. It comes from the previous config. -
Cable management.The hardest problem has been (maybe rather obviously) cable management....
All components fitted rather comfortable in the case, but it would not be closable due to the huge amount of extra cables!
Top view: on the bottom left the "spaghetti thing" with all the cable exceedengs. -
Front exhaust fan area.Making the extra cabling sitting on the top zone of the front area, the frontal fan is almost free from obstacles. -
Rear intake and VGA fans.The route from the rear oblique intake fan, through the two VGA fans and then down to the front exhaust fan is also quite clear from cables. -
PSU and HDD left side.Opposite side: finished job might look straight forward, but connecting the 2.5" Scorpio that is almost aligned with the side panel using the "channel" where also the PSU power cable extension cable already was routed required a number of trials. -

Corsair H60Summer has arrived and the system is in need of better cooling. The Corsair liquid CPU colling kit will guarantee between 15 and 20 °C lower temperature under full load at stock frquencies! -
Radiator and pump readyThe water tubes are designed for a classic desktop case installation and their length has requested some additional work to finally get to a correct and working installation. -
Nuove ventoleThe radiator with its 120mm intake fan no longer allows the right side second 120mm fan that has therefore been replaced by the 92mm fan previously mounted in extraction on the front panel that has been in turn replaced by a more efficient and quiter Scyte S-Flex. Also the 120mm intake oblique VGA fan has been replaced with a better Noctua FLX.
